Logic for senior mathematics
Category: Senior Mathematics
Offered to: Secondary 4 or 5 students under HKDSE curriculum or equivalent
Prerequisite: NIL
Description: Although not directly related to senior mathematics topics, this course provides remarkably important training for students experiencing senior mathematics at school. With an emphasis on logical deduction and sensitivity towards mathematics, the course focuses on notations, fundamental logic and pitfalls. Students are expected to have their mathematical senses vastly improved as well as aroused interest in related fields after completing the course. If time allows, a rather complicated knowledge, the logarithm, will also be taught in prior to the school classes.
Duration: Minimum 8 hours of tuition (4 extra hours if the student fails the final assessment)
Commitment: Recommended at least 12 hours of self-study for the whole course
Homework: Available and compulsory
Course Code: MATH9041

Introduction to Economics I
Category: Economics
Offered to: Secondary 3 or 4 students under HKDSE curriculum or equivalent
Prerequisite: Nil
Description: Intended for students with no experience in secondary school economics. The course introduces students with basic definitions and concepts economists stress on, and general understanding of the study focuses of microeconomics as well as macroeconomics. However, the course does not aim to segregate them completely. Fundamental topics include supply-demand curves, free market mechanism and macroeconomic indicators. Students are expected to apply economics on simple current issues and help them determine if economics knowledge is what they want to pursue in the future.
Duration: Minimum 4 hours of tuition
Commitment: Recommended at least 8 hours of self-study for the whole course
Homework: Irregular and non-mandatory
Course Code: ECON0001
Offered to: Secondary 3 or 4 students under HKDSE curriculum or equivalent

Introduction to Economics II
Category: Economics
Offered to: Secondary 3 or 4 students under HKDSE curriculum or equivalent
Prerequisite: Pass in Introduction to Economics I
Description: This course is the continuation of the economics orientation series. Upon the knowledge from the last course, certain crucial concepts developed from the simpler ones are taught, such as comparative advantage and deadweight loss. This course emphasizes on application of economics. Instead of lecture notes, the tutor will bring up some cases, either recent or historical, and discuss with students from an economic perspective. In return, students will also have to present a piece of news and analyse its effect on the economy, which is regarded as the final assessment of the series.
Duration: Minimum 6 hours of tuition
Commitment: Recommended at least 6 hours of self-study for the whole course
Homework: NIL (except the final assessment research work)
Course Code: ECON0002
Offered to: Secondary 3 or 4 students under HKDSE curriculum or equivalent
